The Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation organizes various iconic Waterbike Challenges, such as the recent 180-kilometer, 22-hour open-sea race from Corsica to Monaco, bringing together athletes, committed ambassadors, and passionate supporters united by a common cause.
While Waterbikes are gaining momentum as a unique and inspiring water sport, these challenges serve a far greater purpose: protecting children and transforming lives through water safety, drowning prevention, swimming education, and sport-based programs.
We wholeheartedly support this mission and share the values it represents. From time to time, and at our sole discretion, we may choose to support initiatives that align with these goals, contributing in our own way to positive outcomes for children and families worldwide.
Separately, and independent of both the Waterbike Challenge and the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, we invite you to enjoy a short and uplifting video that captures the spirit and emotion of the Waterbike experience.

Yes, it is. In Switzerland, the Waterbike requires a license plate issued by the local nautical authorities of each Canton, which can be obtained easily. In France, Italy, and Germany, however, no registration is required—you can simply inflate it and head out.
In Switzerland, the capacity is limited to 2 persons on the Single Waterbike (FUN-ONE), including the mattress, and 3 persons on the Tandem Waterbike, also including the mattress. By comparison, in Italy, France, and Germany, the Waterbike may be used by up to 4 persons, mattress included.
Please check your local nautical regulations to ensure you are following the requirements applicable in your area.
